About Narmada Education and Scientific Research Society [NEST]
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The Narmada College of Science and Commerce (NCSC) was established in 1985 by Narmada Education and Scientific Research Society, a trust known as NEST, which was formed under the able leadership of Shri N. Vittal, (L A S), then Managing Director of GNFC, and with the whole hearted cooperation of the prominent citizens and leading industrialists of the region.
The primary objective of the college was to usher in new era in the field of education with special emphasis on Commerce, Electronics, Computer, Business Administration and Management.
During 18 years of existence, it blossomed into an ever growing movement to propagate the cause of modern education preserving the diverse cultural identity of the country, under following colleges:
- Narmada College of Science and Commerce (NCSC) for Graduate Courses.
- Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavans College of Communication and Management for PG Diploma Professional (evening) Courses.
- Narmada college of Computer Application (NCCA) for PG Course in Computer Application.
- Narmada College of Management (NCM) for PG Course in Management.
MANAGEMENT
The trust is managed by the Board of Trustees with Managing Director, GNFC acting as Chairman of the trust. the Board of senior executives of GNFC and the eminent personalities of Bharuch district.
COURSES OFFERED
- Narmada College of Science and Commerce (NCSC) for Graduate Courses (Computer Science, Electronics, Chemistry, Commerce, Management - BBA).
- Narmada college of Computer Application (NCCA) for PG Course in Computer Application.
- Narmada College of Management (NCM) for PG Course in Management.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management Courses in evening under the aegis of Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan.
ACADEMIC RESOURCES
The college campus has the facilities conductive to provide an atmosphere for the concentrated academic pursuit. The big conference Room, Well Stocked libraries, (different for each department), Networked computer laboratory with all computers are almost P-IV. Leased line All time Internet facility. Highly qualified and experienced team of faculty members for all departments. Senior faculty members are doctoral degree holder while the others are engaged in doctoral research. Some of the teachers are also members in various committees of South Gujarat University and other professional bodies.
